ALICE McMahon blasted her way to a double medal tally at the Northern Athletics Track and Field Championships.

The West Cheshire AC starlet grabbed a silver medal at the Gateshead International Stadium from the under 15 girls 100m after posting a time of 12.40 seconds.

And she added a bronze medal in the 200m final when she clocked 25.67 seconds.

Club colleague Tom Booth delivered a medal-winning display in the U17 men’s 400m hurdles final in a time of 59.75 seconds for the silver medal position.

Alice Jennings cleared 1.50m for joint third position in the U15 girls high jump competition.

Jenni Potter posted 14.05 seconds in her heat of the U15 girls 100m and finished fifth with a time of 12.90 seconds in her heat of the 75m hurdles.

Stephen Jones claimed 24.69 seconds in his heat of the U17 men’s 200m, and Richard Farley covered his U17 men’s 800m heat in two minutes 18.72 seconds.

Leah Ferrie clocked 13.19 seconds for fifth spot in her U17 women’s 100m heat, and then posted 26.97 seconds for fifth place in her 200m heat.

West Cheshire AC will be planning to consolidate their hopes of promotion to the Young Athletes Track and Field League Premier Division this weekend.

The club is currently fourth after two rounds of their Northern League Division One campaign.

West Cheshire travel to Halifax for their third round match this Sunday.

Other forthcoming fixtures include this Saturday’s Peter Lowe Memorial Hollins Green 5k Race which incorporates the Cheshire 5k Championships (4.30pm start at the Black Swan, Hollins Green, between Warrington and Manchester).

The Birkenhead Park Road Races, which includes a three-lap open five miles race (7.45pm start), will be held from the Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre, in the Lower Park, on Wednesday, June 3.

The event also incorporates races for Year 7, 8 and 6 and under age groups from 7pm, and a Year 9 and 10 race at 7.15pm.

Cheshire Oaks High School, Ellesmere Port, is the setting for this year’s Chester Primary Schools’ Track and Field Championships, on Wednesday, June 10 (1pm start for field events, and 5pm start for track events).

West Cheshire AC members are reminded to attend this Saturday’s relay practice session (10am start) in readiness for the Cheshire County Track Relay Championships, to be held on Saturday, July 4, at Cheshire Oaks High.

Entries are now being accepted for a Young Athletes Open Quadrathlon, being held at Sport City in Manchester on Sunday, June 28 (11.30am start).
