RACHEL Stoakley sprinted her way to a silver medal at the North of England Indoor Championships.

The West Cheshire AC member grabbed second in the senior women’s 200m final at Sheffield.

West Cheshire AC colleagues Sian Kelman and Bryony Potter also made the trip to Yorkshire and both qualified for the 60m final.

Sian, who finished third in her heat by equalling her personal best of 7.97 seconds, finished seventh in the final with 8.01. And Bryony, fourth in a new best of 8.06 in her heat, clocked 8.09 for eighth position in the final.

Andrew Clague finished 173rd in a time of one hour 29 minutes 37 seconds at the Shell Four Villages Half Marathon at Helsby. He was joined by other West Cheshire AC finishers Andy Starkey (193rd in 1.29:56), Bob Benson (245th in 1.31:48), Chris Rhodes (248th in 1.31:57), Richard Batterham (321st in 1.35:09), Mike Perchard (398th in 1:37:17) and Clive Donovan (410th in 1.37:31).

Brian Beattie completed his 25th consecutive Four Villages Half Marathon at Helsby, just one week after his 65th birthday, securing third place in the over 60s.

Laura Bestow finished eighth lady and 11th overall in the race at Wrexham in the North Wales Cross Country League. Mary Radford secured 68th place and 62nd spot in the ladies race.

In the over 17 men’s race, Dave Alexander claimed ninth place and Jeff Kettle was 24th.

West Cheshire’s youngsters won the U11 boys and U15 boys competitions at the final round of the North West Sportshall League, staged at Deeside.

David Donkin, Richard Farley, Stephen Jones, Joseph O’Riordan, Ryan Jones, and Michael Bailiff combined for success in the U15s.

James McMahon, Jack Johnson, Matthew Pagan, Conor Rowbottom, Jack Pickering, Jamie Pearson, and Daniel Vickers claimed team victory for the U11s.

The U13 boys squad of Oliver Ashworth, Alex Kirk, Yousef Khalifa, Joel Langmead, Chris McCartney, Tom Kellett and Leon Langmead finished joint second.

Danielle Erskine, Alice McMahon, Jenni Potter, Jenna Sheehy, Alice Jennings, Karry Broster, Emma Johnson and Gemma Hale teamed up to earn silver for the U15 girls as well.

Amy Williams, Charlotte Williamson, Georgia Barlow, Olivia Williams, Sophie Baker, Tess Corr, Abbie Reynolds, Natasha Tudor, Sophie Carter, Gemma Chatterton, Toni Lammond, Rosie Webber and Lucy Fisher clinched second spot in the U11s.

And the U13 girls team of Lucy Earl, Kelly Baker, Laura Rigby, Olivia Montez-Brown, Laura Jones, Sally Pickering, Lydia Perry, Jennifer Munro-Brown, Chloe Hunt and Ellen McMahon took the final silver.

West Cheshire AC stages its annual presentation evening at Chester Rugby Club, Hare Lane, Littleton, on Friday (7.30pm start).
