MEMBERS of West Cheshire AC were out in force for the Chester Spring Five Miles Road Race, where Rob Tudor led the club’s charge.

He completed the course in 26 minutes and 55 seconds for seventh position, ahead of club-mate James Docherty who secured 12th place in 27:33.

West Cheshire’s Adam Parr clocked 28:25 for 23rd position, while Andrew Clague achieved 29:42 for 36th spot and Mark Davies was 42nd in 30:00.

Alex Staniforth continued his good form by clocking 30:18 for 46th position, ahead of Paul Frodsham, who posted 31:26 for 75th position, and Max Woods (77th in 31:29).

Laura Bestow was West Cheshire’s first female finisher, posting 31:32 for 79th position, ahead of Sacha Kendall-Woods (38:09) and Julie Wood (39:21).

Other West Cheshire members in action included Steve Cunningham (108th in 32:52); Luke Ellis (112th in 33:00); Neil McIntyre (187th in 35:49); Alan Littler (195th in 36:15); Kevin Malone (199th in 36:20); Mike Perchard (244th in 37:45); Michael Gandy (258th in 38:36) and John Mercer (303rd in 41:56).

The race was held at the Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton, Chester, last Wednesday. It was won by Liverpool Harriers’ Adam Peers who clocked 25:45.

Chester-based under 20 junior Tessa McCormick, representing Vale Royal AC, won the ladies’ race with a time of 30:00.

Dave Hough was the first of four West Cheshire AC finishers at the Run Halton Bridge Race, clocking 35:23 for 93rd position. Mike Perchard finished 156th in 37:54, ahead of Mark Povey (171st in 38:32) and Peter Povey.

West Cheshire’s Mark Davies posted 40:28 for 66th position at the Air Products 10k Road Race at Crewe.
