WEST Cheshire AC’s youngsters finished third in their penultimate Young Athletes Track and Field League Premier Division match at Bebington.

Olivia Montez-Brown, Alice McMahon, Laura Rigby, Michael Bailiff, Jenni Potter, Georgia Barlow, Kelly Baker and Mark Hearn all achieved victories.

Montez-Brown posted a winning time of 12.3 seconds in the under 17 women’s 80m hurdles, won the 300m hurdles in 47.4 seconds and claimed a winning leap of 5.11m in the long jump.

McMahon clocked 13.2secs for success in the U17 women’s 100m, while Rigby covered the U17 women’s 200m in a winning time of 27.3secs and Bailiff cleared 1.81m for victory in the U17 men’s high jump.

Potter powered her way to a winning throw of 28.68m in the U17 women’s hammer, while Barlow won the U13 girls long jump with 4.14m, Baker hit 10.09m to win the U17 women’s shot, and Hearn won the U17 men’s discus with 21.75m.

Match result: 1 Liverpool Harriers 635 points; 2 Preston 626; 3 West Cheshire 462.

Fixtures this weekend include the Cheshire Schools Track and Field Championships at Macclesfield on Saturday and the Mersey Tunnel 10k race on Sunday (10am start).
