HALTON and Frodsham Harriers turned in a series of medal-winning displays at the North West Sportshall Athletics League finals.

The club’s appearance at Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan was the result of a fine indoor season of league matches.

The morning session saw both the girls and boys’ under 11 squads competing in a range of team events. They were followed in the afternoon by the U13s and U15s, who competed for individual medals and team honours.

The U11s girls team started bright and early. They secured third place, with highlight performances coming from Eleanor Jones, Natasha Treharne and Fay Burrows in the vertical jump.

The U11 boys squad claimed a fourth-placed finish. In the six-lap paarlauf, the team came within a whisker of taking the victory, just pipped to the line by the team from Crewe.

In the U13 girls competition, Harriers finished third.

Michaela Campbell took home a gold in the standing triple jump and took first team points with Keira Brady Williams in that event, as well as bronzes in the two-lap race and standing long jump.

Annabel Kitchen took silvers in the six-lap time trial and shot.

In the U13 boys section, the Harriers finished an impressive second overall.

Tom Price took two gold medals from the two-lap race and shot, while Chris Larkin bagged bronze in the standing triple jump and six-lap time trial.

Sam Cox won gold in the standing long jump, while Bradley Phillips earned a silver medal in the four-lap race.

Jonathan Ashton and Owen Kennedy were the only two Harriers competing in the U15 boys event.

Jonathan took home three medals – gold for the two-lap race, silver for the vertical jump and bronze in the standing long jump – while Owen earned a silver in the speed bounce, with the two boys finishing third overall.

The Harriers U15 girls team took bronze.

Keira Grady achieved a silver medal in the six-lap race and Jess Wright took a bronze in the speed bounce.
