WEST Cheshire AC and Halton & Frodsham Harriers youngsters claimed a fistful of medals at the North West Sportshall League Finals on Sunday.

Emily Ball (Under 13s girls shot), Kelly Baker (U15s girls shot), Olivia Montez-Brown (U15 girls six-lap race), Yousef Khalifa (U15s standing long jump, standing triple jump) and Matthew Pagan (U13s boys speed bounce) all won gold for Wests at the Kingsway Leisure Centre event in Widnes.

There were silver-medal performances from Samhilda Megonigle (U13s girls standing long jump), Sophie Baker (U13s girls speed bounce, parlaaf), Sophie Carter (U13s girls parlaaf), James McMahon (U13s boys shot, four-lap, vertical jump), Leon Langmead (U15s boys four-lap) and Chloe Hunt (U15s girls vertical jump), while bronze medals went to Daniel Vickers (U13s boys standing triple jump), Amy Hinchly (U13s girls six-lap) and Chris Harrop (U13s boys six-lap).

West Cheshire AC finished second in the U13s boys and U15s girls team standings, third in the U11s girls and U13s girls, and fourth in the U11s boys and U15s boys.

The Harriers also had a day to remember.

Their U13s girls team, comprising Annabel Kitchen, Emily Ross, Charlotte Davies, Kelly Groves, Keira Grady, Kelsey Grady, Katie Dinsdale, Keira Brady-Williams, Michaela Campbell and Jess Wright, stole the show as they were crowned the North West champions for their age group.

And for good measure, the club’s U11s girls (Olivia Church, Molly Whitehead, Phillipa Garvey, Alex Hurst, Fay Burrows, Amber Johnson, Alex Ellams, Georgia Horsfield, Christine Campbell, Madison Sterling, Lauren Ashton) and U11s boys (Chris Larkin, Mitchil Collins, Luke Southerton, Nathan Collins, Pip Adamson, James Ennis, Jacob Birtles, Harry Tilston, Matthew Williams) achieved team silver medals.

The Harriers U13s boys finished fourth and U15s boys fifth.
