WEST Cheshire AC duo Kate Titlow and Kerry Riley have set themselves up for individual awards after three rounds of the Manchester and District Cross Country League series.
Kate is currently top of the under 17 ladies standings after finishing second in the third round held at Sherdley Park, St Helens.
And Kerry is in third position overall after finishing ninth in the U17 ladies race.
Tessa McCormick lies in second position overall in the U13 girls race series having finished fifth at St Helens.
Alex Kirk is joint fifth in the U11 boys event after posting seventh position in his second-round race.
James Ellis and Danny Meadows finished third and eighth respectively in the U15 boys race at the St Helens event, and Alan Littler lies eighth overall in the U17 men’s standings after the third round.
Eleanor Robinson finished 61st in the third round and is now eighth overall in the over 35 ladies category standings.
Other West Cheshire AC members in action at St Helens included Liz Stott, who was 60th, Olivia Beaney, who finished 23rd in the U15 girls race, Alec Beaney who was ninth in the U17 men’s race, Lisa Davies, who was 36th in the ladies race, and Dave Hough and Steve Russell-Ingram, who were 101st and 133rd respectively in the men’s race.
The next round of the Manchester and District Cross Country League takes place on Sunday, January 13 at Woodbank Park, Stockport.
Vincent Van-Woerkom headed West Cheshire AC’s charge to the finishing line at the third round of the Borders Road Running League series, held at Tattenhall.
He secured 18th position with a time of 35 minutes 41 seconds after negotiating the undulating 10km course.
He was supported by Gary Roberts, who posted 36:13 for 25th position, Andrew Clague (26th in 36:17), Gary Withers (39th in 37:18), Graham Earlam (40th in 37:21), Paul Price (57th in 38:38), Matthew Gibbs (92nd in 40:47), David Herrington (113th in 41:49), Richard Batterham (119th in 42:02) and Andy Hickmott (126th in 42:28).
Other West Cheshire members in action included Alan Cooper (160th in 45:57), Lisa Davies (23rd lady in 46:09), Brian Beattie (172nd in 47:08), Steve Armstrong (230th in 54:12), Charles Thackray (231st in 54:31) and Ian Cook (238th in 57:53).
Gwyn Owen of Eryri Harriers won in a time of 32:39, while Jay Jennions, of Deestriders, was first lady home with a time of 39:16.
Fixtures this weekend include West Cheshire AC’s Christmas Fun Event at Cheshire Oaks High School Sportshall on Saturday (10am start).
The third round of the Liverpool and District Cross Country League takes place on Saturday at Arrowe Park, Birkenhead, and a Northern Open Indoor Meeting is being staged at Sheffield on Saturday.
The Helena Tipping 10k road race gets under way on Sunday, at Wrexham (11am start).
