THERE was a good turnout from Halton and Frodsham Harriers at the final round match in the Northwest Sportshall Athletics League, staged at Crewe.
Subject to scrutiny, the club has qualified to contest the league finals which will be held at the Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes, in March.
The under 11 girls scored well in the overall event, supporting each other in their tasks. Holly Hicken and Elouise Angus scored a double first in the A and B long jump competitions.
Harriers’ U13 girls were also well represented, scoring well to earn good points for their place in the finals. Ellie Tron was third in the six-lap A race and Grace Watling took third in the A speed bounce.
Emily Ross and Keira Grady represented the club’s U15 girls, with neither scoring worse than a second place in the events they contested.
The U11 boys also had a good squad, competing well to put the valuable points on the board.
There were some well contested first places won by the U13 boys, boosting the match score.
Mark Knight and Ben Sutcliffe were the Harriers’ U15 boys in the competition. Neither finished below second spot in any event they took part in.
