TEAMS from Halton & Frodsham Harriers were in winning form at the Northwest Sportshall League Final.

The event, held at the Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes, was the culmination to a season of indoor competition for all clubs involved in the league.

The Harriers’ under 11 girls team won bronze, while the U11 boys were placed fifth.

For the girls, Holly Hickey and Emelia Poval Clarke finished second in the 2x2 lap relay.

The team also featured May Mallon, Millie Buckley Downes, Abby Watling, Orla McAvoy, Rachel Hardman, Elouise Angus and Skye Marsh.

In the 4x1 lap relay, Emelia, Holly, Elouise and Skye came first in 55.1 seconds.

The U11 boys team comprised Ben Gutteridge, Jadon Allen, Harvey Cook, Max Hardy, Callum Herod, Adam Hodgkinson, Jamie Southerton, Ben Tudor and Owen Jones. Individual scores were – long jump: Jadon (1.89m), Adam (1.70m), Jamie (1.59m); triple jump: Jadon (5.24m), Callum (4.34m); vertical jump: Ben Gutteridge (47cm); chest push: Ben Gutteridge (6.25m), Harvey (5.50m): speed bounce: Adam (41), Owen Jones (40), Ben Tudor (30); javelin: Max (16m), Callum (12m).

Harriers athletes won a number of medals in the U13s and U15s competitions, backed up by good performances just outside the honours.

The U13s girls team finished fourth. The team featured Elizabeth Wright, Alex Hurst, Natasha Treharne, Eleanor Jones, Sophie Ferguson, Grace Wilding and Rebecca Fenelon. Elizabeth finished third in the six-lap race.

The U13 boys team – comprising Tom Price, Luke Southerton, Ben Wallace, Luca Tron, Daniel Fenalon, Jacob Birtles, Chris Larkin, James Ennis and Tom Kimpton – finished second.

Luke was third in the two-lap final in 26.1 seconds, while Daniel was second in the four-lap and Luca third. In the six lap, Jacob won the first race and Chris won the second.

James and Tom teamed up to win the eight-lap paarlauf, while the Harriers’ 4x2 lap relay team of Jacob, Luke, Luca and Tom finished third. Tom set a new record of 11.32m in the shot put.

Only two U15 girls competed for the Harriers – Keira Brady and Emily Ross – and each won medals for their efforts. Their two-strong team finished fifth.

Paul Higgins and Ben Sutcliffe turned in some excellent displays to help the U15 boys finish third.
