WEST Cheshire AC’s youngsters got off to a flying start in their North West Sportshall League campaign.
The club won four age group competitions and finished second in the other two contests at the opening round at Wigan’s Robin Park Arena.
Georgia Barlow, Charlotte Williamson, Olivia and Amy Williams combined to clinch success in the under 11 girls relay.
Lucy Earl, Kelly Baker, Laura Rigby and Olivia Montez-Brown teamed up for victory in the U13 girls relay.
Tom Kellett blasted his way to victory in the U13 boys two-lap (23.7) and anchored the relay team of Oliver Ashworth, Alex Kirk and Joel Langmead to success.
Yousef Khalifa and Oliver Wedgwood registered second placed finishes in both A and B shot put events.
Joseph O’Riordan hit 10.05m for victory in the U15 boys shot and recorded 86 in his speed bounce. He was supported by debutant Richard Farley, who achieved 7.09m in the standing triple jump and 2.37m in the standing long jump.
Stephen Jones grabbed 2.57m in the standing long jump, while David Donkin managed 2.17m and Sam Rimmer reached out for 6.40m in the standing triple jump.
Danielle Erskine clocked up 83 in the U15 girls speed bounce and 2.14m in the standing long jump.
Danielle was joined in the speed bounce by Emma Johnson (77), Chelsea Butler (65) and Lauren Darch (64).
Jenni Potter achieved 2.10m in the standing long jump and 6.59m in the standing triple jump alongside Jenna Sheehy (6.54m), Alice McMahon (6.23m) and Karry Broster (5.58m).
Alice McMahon posted 23.4 seconds in the two-lap staged over a 33m-length sportshall, and debutant Gemma Hale covered the six-lap race in one minute 31.7 seconds.
James McMahon posted 5.54m (standing triple jump) and 6.25m (shot) before helping his U11 boys relay squad of Matthew Pagan, Elijah Montez-Brown and Jamie Miller to victory.
Jack Johnson and Jack Pickering were other members to contribute points in the under 11 boys age group.
In the team standings, West Cheshire were first in the U11 and U13 girls sections and the U13 and U15 boys groups.
The opening round of the Borders Road Running League series is being hosted by West Cheshire AC, from the Cheshire View, Christleton, this Sunday (11am start).
