A WEST Cheshire AC runner has claimed a regional title.

Dave Alexander is celebrating winning the over-45 age group prize in this season’s North Wales Cross Country League.

He finished sixth in the men’s race at the final round staged at The Marches School, Oswestry.

Alexander also finished second in the senior men’s overall standings, while clubmate Andrew Clague clinched third spot overall in the over-40 age group after finishing 26th in the senior men’s race.

West Cheshire AC was also represented at Oswestry by Jim Jones, who finished 101st in the men’s race.

Alexander was rewarded for his consistent performances and hard work during the last 12 months at West Cheshire AC's annual presentation evening staged at Cheshire View, Christleton, where he and clubmate Mark Davies received veteran men’s awards.

Olivia Montez-Brown received the West Cheshire AC women's cup after an impressive year capped by a double gold-medal winning story while representing England at an International Pentathlon Meeting in Glasgow.

Matthew Pagan was presented with the West Cheshire AC men’s cup after claiming the England Athletics 300m title at Bedford in August.

Georgina Moulton’s hard work and commitment was recognised when she stepped up to receive the Wright Cup.

Mark Davies was first home for West Cheshire AC at the Borders Road Running League race at Holyhead, securing 24th place in 29:20.
