WEST Cheshire AC youngsters have helped catapult the county into next month’s UK Sportshall Championship Finals.

Three of Cheshire’s age group teams have qualified to compete in Birmingham on Sunday, April 18.

Amy Williams, Chloe Hunt, and Charlotte Williamson from West Cheshire AC teamed up with Georgia Pickles, Abby Duce, Jess Wright, Freya Taylor-Hayswell, Alice Simmons, Emily Pearson, Katie Lennon, Georgie Perris-Redding, and Kate Merrill to earn Cheshire’s under 13 girls top spot at the North West Regional Final at Wigan's Robin Park Sports Centre.

Williams won the standing triple jump with 6.66m, alongside Hunt (6.16m) while Williamson claimed 34cms in the vertical jump.

West Cheshire’s Daniel Vickers, Alex Kirk, Leon Langmead, Matthew Pagan, and James McMahon teamed up with county teammates Jonny Nwabuze, Will Matthews, Jonny Ding, Ben Sutcliffe, Ralph Johnstone, Jack Simcox and James Howell-Jones to earn Cheshire U13 boys second team position.

Vickers scored 69 in the speed bounce, Kirk cleared 1-35m in the high jump, Langmead hit 9.11m in the shot, Pagan hit 2m in the standing long jump and McMahon hit 8.12m in the shot.

Ryan Jones, who scored 69 in the speed bounce, joined forces with Adam Howell, David Hayes, Shane Mellor, Peter Crean, and Mark Deprose to earn Cheshire U15 boys a share of top spot with Lancashire while West Cheshire AC members Alice McMahon, Olivia Montez-Brown, Kelly Baker, and Jenna Sheehy helped earn the U15 girls victory alongside county team colleagues Aimee Addis, Gemma Valentine and Emma Scott.

McMahon clocked the fastest two lap time of 23.1 seconds, while Montez-Brown clocked a four lap time of 49.9 seconds, and Baker won the shot with 10.59m.
