WEST Cheshire AC was represented by four members at the opening round of the Manchester Area Cross Country League.
Cameron Weaver finished fifth in the under 13 boys race at Heaton Park, Manchester, in a time of 12 minutes and 33 seconds. Clubmate Ewan clocked 16:19 for 32nd spot.
Megan McEveley posted 40th position in the U15 girls race with 16:38 and Mark Hearn finished 13th in the U15 boys race in 15:44.
Whitby High School in Ellesmere Port will host the Cheshire County Schools Cross Country Championships at their Sycamore Drive playing fields on Saturday, January 14.
Fixtures this weekend include the Snowdonia Marathon from Nant Peris/Llanberis, on Saturday (10.30am start).
The second round of the North Staffs Cross Country League takes place at Park Hall, Longton, on Saturday (12.30pm start) and the first round of the Liverpool and District Cross Country League takes place on Saturday at Beacon Park, Skelmersdale (2pm).
Entries are being accepted for the McCain Liverpool Cross Challenge, incorporating the Liverpool League and European Cross Country Trials, at Sefton Park, Liverpool, on Saturday, November 26. Entries close on Friday, November 18. Entry forms can be obtained from West Cheshire AC’s Stanney Track Office, Ellesmere Port.
