ASHLEY Pye hauled a full set of medals for Halton & Frodsham Harriers at the North West Sportshall League finals.

The club had qualified at three age groups for Wigan's Robin Park, where Ashley spearheaded their efforts in the Under 13 boys' events.

He teamed up with Marcus Vernon for gold in the six-lap paarlauf.

Ashley took the silver over two laps (24.02 secs) and scored 73 for bronze in the speed bounce, also claiming eighth in the triple jump.

Not to be outdone, Marcus achieved third place in the long jump with 2.12m.

James Crosby came fifth in the four lap with 55.7 secs and was two places further back in the six-lapper (1: 30.6).

He was the fourth best vertical jumper with 42cms.

Robert McGeachie's 58.1 secs in the four-lap race was enough for ninth place while he climbed a position in the six-lap (1:32.1).

Robert was also sixth at the speed bounce with 66 and seventh in the vertical jump (36cms).

Under-15s athletes David Tomalin and Mark Coman struckgold in the eight-lap paarlauf while David earned eighth places for the speed bounce with 71 and vertical jump (48cms).

After taking second in the six-lap heats, Mark clocked 1:18.6 for sixth spot in the final. He repeated that finish in the long jump (2.28m) while clinching tenth place in the shot putt with a 7.12m best.

Nathan Dawson opened with a 23.2 sec run for sixth in the two-lap race to which he added eighth in the four lap (52.1).

Things got better for him with a couple of bronze-medal performances -2.45m in the long jump and 59cms in the vertical jump.

Sam Ford, though not in the medals, scored well.

He was tenth in the two-lap race (25.3) and four lapper (54.3s), ninth in the speed bounce with 68 and 11th in the shot putt, (5.83m).

The U11 girls' over under relay saw Martha Cottrell, Amber Schofield, Hazel Brow, and Emma Pyatt securing fourth place points in 1:17.5.

Amy Pearson, Emma Scott and Maisie Ford joined Martha in the 4x1 relay, taking 5th place in 52.4s.

Amy and Jess Wright had a time of 52.9s in the 2x2 relay for sixth position.

Amy partnered Emma Scott in the six-lap paarlauf, 1:21.9 nailing sixth place.

In the field events, Amy was long jump runner-up (2.04m) while bagging sixth place with 5.50m for the triple jump in which Jess backed up with a best of 5.31m.

Martha's 1.87m long jump landed her 11th place.

In the speed bounce, Jess's score of 54 was equalled by team-mate Emma Scott, giving them joint first places.

Maisie scored with a 6.25m chest push for fourth position and Emma Pyatt's 5m took 15th spot.

Emily Pearson tallied 34cms in the vertical jump and Emma Pyatt 32cms.

Overall, the Harriers' U11s girls and U13s boys both finished fourth and the U15 boys fifth.

This event completes the indoor season for the Harriers, the first outdoor event being the first round of the Cheshire Track and Field League at Connah's Quay, Deeside, on April 15.
