REJUVENATED Alfie's Arrows stunned Section Four leaders Tranny Rovers in the Runcorn Apec Taxis Darts League.

It was only a second defeat of the season for Rovers and the Arrows' 5-4 win enabled second and third-placed Jolly Brewer and The Tup to draw level on points at the top by beating Royal Aces 7-2 and Castle Knights 6-3, respectively.

Only two points separate the top four teams since fourth-placed Quayside came from 3-1 down to win 5-4 against local rivals Bennett's Boys.

Castle Knights share bottom spot with Nil Points. The latter went down 5-4 to Raven.

Section Two leaders Union Tap also suffered their second defeat of the season, falling 7-2 to RAOB for whom Dave Farrow finished in 18 darts.

Halfway Mixed defeated hitherto second-placed Grapes 6-3 to move to within two points of the leaders.

The losers, meanwhile, slipped to fourth place, Tricorn jumped into third after beating Halton Marauders 6-3 with Eric James finishing in 18 darts.

Navvy Lads, 6-3 winners against bottom-of-the-table Outcasts, remain in fifth place but have played a match fewer than the four leading teams.

Over in Section Three, the top three teams were all victorious and remain level on points.

First and second-placed Welly and Prospect Has Beens raced to 7-2 wins at the expense of Total Confusion and Union Tavern, respectively.

Welly's win included a 19-dart from Steve Urmson.

An 18-darter from John Coleshill helped third-placed Pavilions to a 6-3 win over fourth-placed Lion Stonecutters.

Burma vacated bottom spot by beating Dreadnaughts 6-3 which means Dray, 5-4 losers to Fiddlers Three, now share the wooden spoonists' position with Union Tavern.

Section One leaders Halfway A romped to a 9-0 whitewash against Dock Lads with Wally Done finishing in 19 darts. Second-placed Albion's 5-4 victory over third-placed Clarry B included a 16-dart game from Paul Melia.

Eric Holmes scored a maximum for the losers and Tim Evans produced a 106 finish.

Fourth-placed Navvy were taken to a deciding game before beating Red Admiral 5-4.

Fifth-placed Lion Doo Waps lost ground on the leaders, going down 7-2 to sixth-placed Roundhouse.

The clash between Halfway Gents and Tranny Lads produced two maximums -from Steve Allan ((Tranny Lads) and Jim Reynolds (Halfway Gents). Tranny Lads ran out 6-3 winners.
