COMPETITORS from Chester mixed it with the best the region has to offer when Christleton Sports Centre staged the Chester Children’s Aquathlon.

The sport consists of a continuous two-stage race involving swimming followed by running.

And Chester Triathlon Club proved pretty adept at it after they laid on a variety of races for competitors aged from eight to 16.

The host club’s youngsters saw off many of the 91 entrants to claim podium places in the North West Regional Winter Series fixture.

Chester Tri’s Oliver McCormick came second in the novice A class, Katie Mclean came first in novice B, Anna Willis came third in tri one and Sam Stradling and William Gale-Hasleham came second and third respectively in tri three.
