CHESTER Tackle Locker’s silver fish only open match at Hampton Springs Fishery was won by Andy Spencer.

Float fishing caster on the Poplars Pool saw him take roach for a triumphant 31-8-0. Spencer beat Mark Mealing’s 28-0-0 and Stan Butler’s 24-8-0.

George Edwards took a 2-4-0 ide along with roach and skimmers to submit a winning weight of 6-8-0 in the Lobol AC match on the Priory Pool.

Barry Carlson was classed just behind him with 5-9-0 and Geoff Selby took 4-9-0.

Arthur Evans soared highest in Airbus flyfishers match at Lake Hill Fishery on Llandegla Moors. Alternating between a montanna and a viva, he took a brace of rainbows weighing 5-0-0 including the best fish of the day, weighing 3-8-0. Matthew Hartley was next with 4-8-0 and Derek Muff followed with a single rainbow for 1-12-0.

Steve Openshaw won the Thursday Open match at Lingmere Fishery with carp weighing 47-12-0. That put him ahead of Dave Woodworth with likewise for 23-4-0 and Geoff Barker with 17-0-0.

Lingmere’s Saturday match went to Alan Dewhurst whose carp weighed 21-8-0 to beat Bob Edwards and Steve Openshaw after they both reeled in 17-14-0.

Wendy Locker ran out the winner in the Hampton Springs Fishery open match with 57-14-0 including an 11-0-0 carp.

Dave Furlong of Chester netted a double in the open matches at Leeswood Fishery.

He took the Thursday match with carp and skimmers or 11-2-0 and also claimed the Sunday match with a carp-based 18-4-0.
