GODFREY Hulse landed a catch to remember at Tree Tops Fishery.

The Frodsham Fly angler lured a superb 8lbs 2ozs rainbow that fell to a damsel nymph on the Twin Island Pool as well as taking another brace of trout with a total weight of 4lbs 15oz.

Two local anglers produced good returns at Cheshire Fishing in Tattenhall.

Kevin Morris weighed in with 65lbs of carp to 8lbs, roach to 1lbs and bream.The Huntington ace fed pellet and fished over this with a mixture of corn and pellet on the method feeder.

Using his brand new shock stick, Chester’s John Langford bagged carp weighing up to 7lbs with corn in the margins for a total of 60lbs.

Wendy Locker was in fine form in the latest Thursday Rovers match at Hampton Springs Fishery.

Locker, of Hoole, drew peg three on Rock Pool and used meat on the tip tempting a good 55lbs 3oz of carp for second spot..

Blacon’s Andy Smith cruised to victory in the Cheshire Police AC match at Meadow View Fishery as he used pellet to good effect to net 33lb 8oz of carp.

Cyril Knobbs was the winner of the Saltney AC match at Holmston Hall Fishery near Tarporley. An assortment of baits provided the Blacon ace with a winning bag of bream worth 13lbs 2oz.

Lee Lloyd was runner-up with 11lb 11oz of carp that fed on maggot and worm with third place going to fellow Saltney angler Brian Williams with 4lbs 8oz of carp.

A superb 8lbs carp was brought to the net by Chester’s Brian Fook Snr as he finished second in the Flint AC match at Lower Ridge Farm in Saughall with a 17lbs 3oz total.

One place behind was Geoff Dentith, of Hoole, with exactly 17lbs of small carp and aide taken on the feeder and on the pole.

Simon Knibbs and Bob Asher took top spots in the Saturday open match at Hampton Springs Fishery.

After drawing peg 45 on Long Island, Knibbs, of Tattenhall, bagged 26lbs 2oz of carp for fourth place.

Asher weighed in third with 32lbs 2oz from peg 32 on the same pool. The Chester angler brought stockies worth up to 4lbs and tench to 3lbs to the net using the feeder fished to the island.
