RUNNING: GAVIN Tomlinson, the Middlewich cricketer-cum-runner, was the first Vale Royal AC athlete home at the club's annual Pie & Peas five-mile race at Moulton on Wednesday.
The race was won in 26mins 56secs by Mark Williams, running under his Hong Kong club banner, with Wilmslow's Michael Halman in second place, 15 seconds behind.
Tomlinson, also a footballer at Middlewich Town, clocked 27.34 and also led the club to the men's team prize. Vale Royal also won the women's team event with the B team third and C team seventh.
Pete Maher was the first Over 50 home and 15-year-old schools track international Stevie Stockton was first female Under 20.
