WITTON Albion face three games in five days, knowing nine points will dramatically boost the chances of a top-half finish.

John Davidson's men must finish in the top 13 in the Unibond League Division One to guarantee their place in next year's new-look Premier Division.

Albion face Kidsgrove away tonight (Wednesday) in a rearranged game after Saturday's match was called off due to frost, then face tough games at Farsley Celtic on Saturday and at home to Bamber Bridge on Monday.

But while Davidson is keen for his team to quickly pick up as many points as possible, he doesn't want to heap pressure on his players on the back of two league draws.

He said: 'We have three games in a short period of time which are very important.

'The teams that go on a good run between now and the end of the season will be the teams that will be in the Premier Division next year. If we can pick up some points now, it will make it easier for us.

'But I don't want to put too much pressure on my players. We are finding that we are playing better away from home where, perhaps, the expectation isn't so great.'

Defender Simon Hughes misses tonight's game through a one-match suspension, while midfielder Andy Pavey is expected to be out for a couple of weeks with a knee injury. Defender Gareth Evans, who missed the last game with illness, should return, while Dave Nolan is also expected to figure.
