DARTS: HALTON Stadium fell off the Division One title pace in the Karalius Bros RTB Section of the Widnes & District League.

They came unstuck against Mill Brow A as Clock Rec, who had been joint top with the Stadium, defeated Victoria 7-2 for an outright lead.

The Stadium soon found themselves two down as Karl Windisch and Martin Rowlands gave the Brow an early advantage.

Gordon White pulled one back but Brow kept their composure as Karl Whitfield & Carl Hackney re-established a two-game lead.

Alan Magee & Kenny Murphy threw a splendid game to help ease the pressure on the Stadium team.

But the Brow had it all sewn up minutes later. Victory by Eric Peel & Bob Mason followed by success for Phil McGuinness and Paul Linger saw the visitors home. Stadium's Kenny Murphy took the last.

United Services A ripped through the card at home to Queens.

Ian Spencer, Paul Williams and a superb 11-dart game from Mal Holden - his second of the season - put the Services three up.

The Queens found no respite in the pairs as Dave Everitt & Mal Holden, Ian Spencer & Paul Williams and Keith Mason and Kev Martindale put the match well out of reach.

Dave Everitt made it 7-0 but Brian Fahey stopped the rot before Kev Martindale wrapped it up to give the Services an 8-1 victory.

Moorfield SSC raced into a four-game lead against the Castle as Ted Cafferty, Reg Humphreys, Chris Jones and Mick Connor & Chris Bright put them close to victory.

Keith Glover & John Twigg put a temporary halt to Moorfield's winning ways, but Ted Cafferty & Reg Humphreys made the match safe.

In Division Two, the Widnes Rec teams went head to head in what proved a close game.

Rec A, sitting pretty at the top and undefeated, had to dig deep against their lowly clubmates.

Andy Macintosh gave the B team first blood. D Jackson levelled only to see Russ Hardman put the B side ahead again.

J Thompson & D Jackson levelled once more and the favourites took the lead for the first time through Andy Ruane & A Coombes.

Back came the B side with a 15-dart doubles game from Russ Hard-man & Alistair Purvis. Hardman checked out with double 10, double three and inside bull.

That, though, was the end of the B side's winning ways as J Thompson and Andy Ruane kept Rec A's 100% record. Ken Hardman took the last game for the Rec B to make it 5-4.

The RAOB and the Services displayed some good throwing.

Bob Jones opened with a 20-dart win for the Buffs, backed up with a 21-dart display by Brian Dutton.

C Howarth pulled a game back for Services, only to see Bing Gray & Ray Dutton open up the two-game lead, again with a 14 dart game.

Chris Morley & Kevin Birch cut the deficit but Brian Dutton & Ken Skitt (15 darts) put Buffs close to glory, duly secured by Ray Dutton.

Chris Morley hit a 21-dart game for the Services before John O'Niell took the last for the Buffs.

St Michael's turned on the magic to heavily defeat Albion. K Davies, John Davies and John Kirwan singles and Ken Jenkinson & Mark Lunt, K Davies & Joe Boyle and Ian Johnson & Mick Davies in the pairs saw Mike's past the winning post.

Mick Davies made it 7-0 before Paul Mason hit back. Mark Lunt, however, rounded of a superb effort from St Michael's with a 13-darter.
