Chester Gladiators' under 7s and under 8s teams took to the field for the first time sporting new kits thanks to sponsors Ungerer.
Following a successful coaching programme, the club formed two new junior teams and entered the North West Counties Rugby League Assocaition.
Both teams have been kitted out in strips carrying the logo of the Sealand Road based company and took part in their first matches on Sunday with the U8s hosting Westhoughton Lions and the U7s travelling to Burtonwood Bulldogs.
Grahame Hackney, head of Ungerer's flavour division, said: "We feel sport plays a vital role in the community and we have a lot of families here who are interested in rugby, so we were pleased to offer our support and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season."
The club, which was formed in 2008, has two senior teams and plans to establish further junior teams in the near future, as well as a new tots class for children under six.
Gladiators chairman Jim Green said: "The junior kits are the same as the one worn by the first team which is where we hope the children all aspire to be one day.
"It’s great for them to look smart and they played very well. Some of the boys have only been playing for eight weeks and have really come on.
"Others have increased hugely in confidence and they are all very excited about the season ahead.
“It’s good to see so much interest in rugby and we hope that by starting young we can have some great young players in years to come.
"This is the first time in history Chester has had one, never mind two, rugby leagues at this age playing in the North West Counties.
"The support Ungerer have given us has made a real difference."
