NOMADS eased through their under 12s derby match with a dominant performance in the Ellesmere Port junior league.

They reaped the fruits of their hard labour against visitors Vicars Cross Dynamoes, producing six fine goals including a James Shaw hat-trick.

An impressive first-half display saw Cameron Clark open the scoring. Jack Rogers hit a brace while James Shaw earned the MoM award for his part in the victory.

The game was soon beyond Vicars Cross but the game was strongly contested.

In the under 13s Cheshire Cup, Nomads yet again dominated the game despite initially going 1-0 down to hosts Eastham Rangers.

On a boggy Eastham pitch in the rain and wind, fluid football was difficult but the hosts struck early on, a long ball hitting the bar and coming back in for a goal-line tap-in.

Nomads were slow to settle but began to counter-attack once they found their rhythm, equalising just before half-time with an excellent finish from Stuart Swift.

In the second half, Nomads were playing downhill with the wind behind them and were able to sustain pressure on the Rangers defence.

Ally Walker took the lead for Nomads with a well-taken free kick, and with 15 minutes to go, Eddie Charles-Jones ran on to a through-ball and fired home to make it 3-1 and put the fixture beyond doubt. MoM was Matty Robinson.

Nomads now go through to the Cheshire Cup quarter finals.

An opportunity has arisen for a talented goalie to make a name for themselves at the top level.
