CHESTER Schoolboys Under 15s booked their place in the last 16 of the Alder Owen Cup on Saturday with an excellent 2-1 victory over a strong South Ribble side.

Goalkeeper Jack Minshull made a number of early saves before captain Aaron Hassall opened the scoring with a 25-yard screamer.

Hassall doubled the advantage when he converted a Matthew Sheen pass and went close to completing his hat-trick before South Ribble pulled a goal back.

The Lancashire outfit piled forward and it took another super Minshull stop to keep them out.

Ollie Knight was Chester’s man of the match in a top team performance.
