A TIGHT game in testing winds ended with Parkgate 2-1 winners at Saughall Colts in the under 16s division of the Chester and District Junior League.

Parkgate took the lead after 13 minutes but an end-to-end contest surprisingly produced few chances until Parkgate doubled their lead 20 minutes from time. Saughall pulled one back when man-of-the-match Robbie Dagnell headed his first goal for the club.

Vicars Cross Dynamos were beaten 5-0 at home by Hope Farm Hotspurs and Rossway overcame Princes Villa 5-1.

In the U15s section, Upton North won 7-1 against Chester Nomads and Malpas beat Blacon Youth Whites 2-0.

Tattenhall were beaten 8-2 by Vicars Cross Dynamos with goals from Chris McDermott (4), Tom Lloyd (2), William Harris and Jordan Bainbridge, Stuart Sadler and Henry Matthews netting for Tattenhall.

Whitby Strikers beat Pulford 2-1. Mike Kelly scored for Pulford and MoM was Andy Hall.

Hosts Elton Youth lost 5-0 to Castrol Athletic and Bunbury beat Newton Athletic 6-3.

Christleton New Scene won 6-2 at Hope Farm Hotspurs. Ben Keable, Callum Parry (3), MoM Zak Threadgold and Lewis Dransfield scored for Christleton.

Boughton propelled themselves to the semi finals of the Cheshire Junior Cup with a 3-2 penalty shoot-out win against Upton. MoM was James Davies.

Westminster Park Warriors suffered a 9-1 defeat at home to Rossway United in the U14s division. Jack Eite scored Warriors’ only goal. Rossway’s scorers were Connor Dickson, Dominic Cole, Steve Harris, Liam Smith, Ryan Harding, Izaac Allmark, Dan Brownlea and Rob Davies. MoM was Tom Hearn.

Hope Farm Hotspurs beat Newton Eagles 5-0 and Chester Nomads lost 6-1 to Malpas at home.

In the U13s division, Princes Villa won 9-0 against Malpas thanks to goals by Callum Glover, Dom Roberts, Martin Marshall, Liam Brennan, Louis Hidalgo, MoM Dane Williams and Conor Paterson.

Park Saints drew 2-2 against Castrol Celtic. Joe Williams and Patrick Burke scored for Park Saints, whose MoM was Stuart Austin.

In the U13s Cup, Westminster Park Lions won 6-1 at home to Newton Athletic. Lions’ goals came from Scott Smith (3), Ashley Whales and Lee Richardson (2). Lions MoM: Harley Dutton.

JFC Boughton triumphed 4-1 in their Cheshire Minor Cup quarter-final tie against Vauxhall Motors. Boughton goal- scorers were MoM Liam Blake (3) and Jack Smith.

AFC Waverton Wasps U12s beat Vicars Cross 9-0 with Matthew Sheen, Will Doerr, Alex Wilkinson, Sam Jones, Mat Simpson and Robbie Foster sharing the goals.

Malpas won 5-1 at home against Upton. Joel Nevitt (2), Tom Hayton (2) and Jamie Humes scored for Malpas.

Whitby Rangers lost 4-1 to visiting Hope Farm, while Castrol Athletic drew 2-2 with Westminster Park Lions. Lions’ scorers were Callum Price and Luke Davies.

Boughton cruised into the next round of the President’s Cup with a 9-2 win at Tarporley Wanderers. Their goals came from MoM Jack Davies, Luke Wilson, Callum Owen, Ross Lavender, Dan Jones, Charlie Jones and Aaron Hassall.

Chester Nomads Colts won 4-3 on penalties in the quarter finals against Chester Nomads.

Blacon U11s drew 3-3 with Boughton, Waverton Bees beat Princes Villa 4-0 and Upton Panthers won 9-2 against Malpas.
