A TIGHT under 9s game between hosts Vicars Cross Dynamos and Chester Nomads saw outstanding displays across the pitch as the visitors edged the game 3-1.

Dynamos’ joint men of the match were Josh Moulton and Lewis Gerrard, who put in some sterling work but were unable to stop a strong Nomads side.

An Adam Halewood free kick and goals from Andrew Fox and James Bolton took the points. Good displays were also put in by stand-in keeper Alex Nelson and Nomads’ man of the match Seb Cartwright.

Nomads also beat Saughall Colts Blacks 7-0, with Ilan Ap Gareth (5), James Chadwick (1) and Jack Dixon (1) taking points for the hosts.

Newton Athletic Eagles could not match the might of Upton Panthers, who won 8-0. Eagles MoM was Sam John with a superb display, while Joe Hardy (3), Oliver Wright (2), George Hassall and Jack Wild all netted. Upton MoM was Joe Hardy.

Vauxhall Astras drove past Saughall Colts Blues 6-1, with James Winskill getting Colts’ goal and MoM. Meanwhile, Hope Farm Hotspurs overcame hosts Westminster Tigers 5-1, and the Tigers clashed as Boughton won 6-1 at home against Blacon Youth Tigers.

In the U10s section, Newton Athletic enjoyed an excellent victory over a spirited Westminster Park side.

Dominic Doherty led the way with four goals and others on the scoresheet included Matthew Clewley, Jay Sampson and Liam Maddrel.

Visitors Waverton Bees flew past Upton Pumas 3-1 in a close game with several missed chances. Upton Panthers took on Waverton Hornets and won 11-0.

A closer game saw Blacon Youth go down 2-0 at home to Christleton Newscene. Blacon named Keiron McHugh, Emile Prince and Luke Fields as their star players.

Chester Nomads beat Hoole Hornets with MoM Sean Maddocks getting two. Charlie Ward and Deiniol Gregory-Bower also got two while Marco Appolonio, Jack Lawrence and Owain Ap Gareth all netted. An own goal made it 10-0.

Chances flowed when Westminster Park Tigers hosted Malpas & District. Patrick Prewitt-Wagener netted for Tigers but Harry Dulson and Christophe Fostier made it 2-1 to Malpas. Tigers MoM was David Pearson and Harry Dulson shared the honour for Malpas.

Despite the heroics of Upton Jaguars replacement keeper Ryan Brace, Waverton Wasps won at home 6-0.
