WESTMINSTER Park Tigers under 9s were pleased with a point from their game against Newton Athletic.

The result came after a phenomenal 8-0 weekend win at home to Upton.

Conner Davies netted in a 1-1 Shield draw with Will Ashton named MoM.

Blacon lost 4-0 at home to Waverton Rockets (Ryan Potter MoM), and Stephen Carter was at the double as Newton Athletic drew 2-2 with Malpas. MoM was James King-Magee.

Castrol Athletic beat Westminster Park Lions 2-1 and Waverton Jets were 4-2 winners over Waverton Rockets.

Jack Catherall was the star player as Upton Blacks drew 2-2 with Malpas Blacks, Westminster Park Cougars had a 0-0 draw with Upton Pumas.

In the U9s Cup, JFC Boughton won a close game at Vicar’s Cross Dynamoes 1-0 with a late Jonathan Nixon goal. Debutant keeper Lewis Musgrave was MoM for a deserved clean sheet.

Christleton Newscene beat Blacon 3-1.

In the U10s Shield, Hope Farm saw off Vicar’s Cross Dynamos 6-1 with two goals coming from MoM Ben Owen, Helsby beat Castrol Athletic 2-1.

Boughton stunned Chester Nomads Colts 5-1 in the cup thanks to doubles from MoM Andrew Bewley and Kyle Cooper, with Jack Houghton completing the scores. Charlie Hill replied and Connor Evans was Nomads’ MoM.

David Baird, James Saul, Jack Pickering were on target as Chester Nomads beat Waverton Hornets 3-2.
