HARRY Kiloran netted but his goal could not spur Chester Nomads to victory at home to Princes Villa in the Chester and District Junior League under 12s division.
Nomads battled hard in what was a very close fought match but lost 3-1.
At half-time it was 0-0 but after the break Villa capitalised on a few gaps.
A set-piece gave them the lead before they doubled their advantage on the break as Nomads attacked.
Man-of-the-match Kiloran slid the ball into the net from a high cross into the box but Villa took advantage of Nomads’ attacking mentality to restore the deficit almost immediately.
In the U13s section, Boughton returned from Vicars Cross Dynamos with a 2-1 victory in the bag to retain their league title.
It was a nervous display from Boughton. Vicars Cross started well and went into the lead following a fast breakaway.
Boughton equalised before half-time through Callum Owen’s cool finish.
The visitors took control in the second half but struggled to beat the excellent Robert Charles-Jones in the Dynamos’ goal.
With time ticking on, Boughton were awarded a penalty following a scramble in the box and it was duly converted by Charlie Jones to secure his side’s back-to-back titles.
Castrol Athletic beat Castrol Celtic 3-2 and Castrol lost 4-1 at home to Princes Villa.
Pulford finished their season in style as they defeated Chester Nomads Colts 6-1 in the U15s division. After a tight opening 20 minutes, Pulford opened the scoring with a calm finish by Tomos Hughes – the first of his hat-trick – after he rounded the Colts keeper.
The goal gave Pulford a surge of confidence, and they netted twice more before the interval – the third coming after a sweeping move started by keeper Ketan Dhital and involving six players.
Pulford scored again early in the second half but the plucky Colts replied with a well-taken goal.
Pulford’s other scorers were Andy Hall, Isaac Foye-Burns and Michael Kelly.
In the U16s section, Rossway drew 2-2 with Christleton, Parkgate lost 3-2 at home to Pulford and Waverton also fell at home, 2-1 to Princes Villa.
