BLACON Youth were on top form to beat Malpas and District 7-2 in their Under 12s Division One match.

Hosts Malpas took the lead through Oscar Welsh but Brandon Burrows equalised for the visitors with an injury-time penalty.

Blacon quickly pulled clear in the second half and put the game beyond doubt with a number of fine strikes, but Henry Eddleston grabbed a consoltation goal for Malpas.

James Norris was named man-of-the-match for Malpas.

The Division Two game between Upton and Westminster Park Tigers was a tightly-fought fixture, but hosts Upton edged it 2-1.

The previous game between these two sides had ended in a draw, and with the match goalless at half time, it was clear there was still very little to choose between them.

Upton took the initiative in the first five minutes of the second half through Dom Cleverly but the Tigers equalised almost immediately.

Upton continued to press forward and MoM Alex Kearns found the net to restore the hosts’ lead.

The Tigers went on maximum attack and hit the post in the final minute, but some excellent Upton defending sealed the victory.
