JOSEPH Smith scored twice and was named man of the match as Elton defeated Pulford 4-2 in the under 15s Duke of Westminster Cup.

Those supporters who braved the atrocious conditions saw Shaun Bailiff and Ethan Marshall also on target for Elton. Pulford’s scorers were Rory Benson and Tomos Hughes.

Elsewhere, Blacon Blacks beat Castrol 1-0 while Saughall Colts put seven past Newton and kept a clean sheet in the U14s Duke of Westminster Cup. Adam Howell, Jeff Norris and Guy Byrne all netted braces for Saughall while Elliot Seville added another.

Midfielder Joshua Wren’s outstanding ball distribution won him Saughall’s MoM. Newton MOM was Paul Hughes.

Park Saints defeated JFC Boughton 5-1 after Boughton had taken the lead through Alex Garner. Park Saints’ greater physical strength proved decisive and Jonny Morgan (2), Ben Leamann, Jake Williams and Lloyd Stanley scored.

AFC Waverton beat Westminster Park Warriors by the same margin on a boggy, wind-swept pitch. Warriors could manage only a well-deserved late consolation goal through Duaine Meacock. Sam Moore was Warriors’ MoM.

In the league, Pulford walked away 3-1 victors over Hope Farm Hotspurs thanks to a Gareth Roberts hat-trick.

Craig Hartshorn scored for Hope Farm and Pulford’s MoM was goalkeeper Alec Shuttleworth.

Hope Farm Rangers also crashed to a 9-0 defeat at home to Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Chester Nomads Girls U14s beat Chester City Girls 3-1 in a top-of the-table clash thanks to a Saiorse hat-trick. The PoM for her brilliant positional play, strong tackling and distribution was Sophie Hurst.

A tense finale ended with Park Saints coming out on top in extra time in their Duke of Westminster Cup U13s fixture against Upton. Braces from MoM Joe Williams and Lewis Jennings, and a Stuart Austin strike won it for Park Saints.

Castrol Athletic stormed to a 5-2 win over Westminster Park Lions. Ben Beadles and Scott Smith scored for Lions. MoM was goalkeeper Jack Kent.

JFC Boughton beat last season’s cup final opponents AFC Waverton Wasps 4-1 in the U12s Duke of Westminster Cup. Goals from Charlie Jones, Ross Lavender, Luke Wilson and Tom Chrimes wrapped up a convincing win.

Malpas lost 6-2 at home to Westminster Park Lions. Callum Price opened the scoring in the third minute followed by goals from Luke Davies and four from Chris McCartney.

Malpas MoM Joel Nevitt scored both their goals. Lions’ MoM was Ellis Gibson.

Chester Nomads overcame Princes Villa 3-0 away in the league. Nomads’ scorers were Harry Kiloran, Shaun Crawshaw, Charlie Mann.

Vicars Cross Dynamos recorded a convincing 5-0 victory over Upton thanks to goals from Liam Harrison, H McGarva, J Wainwright, K Carney and C Peplar.

In the U12s junior league, Westminster Park were beaten 3-1 by Waverton Bees whose only scorer was James Davis.

There was a thrilling 4-4 encounter between Chester Nomads and Upton Panthers in the U11s Duke of Westminster Cup. Nomads’ scorers were Deiniol Bowyer, Luke Chard, Isaac Robinson and Harvey France. MoM was Keiron Brown.

JFC Boughton won 10-0 at home to Waverton Hornets in the same competition. Boughton were led by MoM Ben Middleton who shared the goals with Tommy Speed, Will Smith, Saleem Rizvi, Steve Rimmer, Scott Hamilton, Liam Maddrell, John Davies, Aaron Haddock and Jack Watson.

Blacon beat AFC Waverton Wasps 4-3 and Malpas triumphed over Hoole Hornets 5-0 with Harry Dulson (2), Thomas Milburn (2) and MoM Thomas Wright getting on the scoresheet.
