MINI marvels from the Chester & District Junior League took centre stage at the Exacta Stadium on Saturday.

Finals day for the league’s minis section saw four matches take place at the home of Chester FC.

In the Under 9s Shield, Waverton ran out 3-1 winners over Princes Villa Colts.

The U9s Cup final went the way of Newton Athletic, 4-1 winners over Princes Villa, while the U10s Shield was won by Vicars Cross Dynamo Colts, who beat Saughall Colts 2-1.

The U10s Cup was lifted by Christleton Newscene after they overcame Waverton 1-0.

On Sunday it was time for the league’s older age groups to contest the Knockout Cup finals.

The results were – U11s: Christleton Newscene 2 Groves 1; U12s: Vicars Cross Dynamos 1 Chester Nomads 0; U13s: JFC Boughton 1 Waverton Jets 1 (Waverton won 5-4 on pens); U14s: Ellesmere Port 2 Blacon Youth 0; U15s: Groves 3 JFC Boughton 1; U16s: Upton North 4 Chester Nomads 2; U17/18s: Helsby 0 Vicars Cross Dynamos 3.

League chairman Brian Messham thanked Chester FC for use of the Exacta Stadium and Olympic Trophies for providing the trophies.
