SAUGHALL Colts Blues missed a late opportunity to rescue their under 9s clash with Waverton.

Both sides passed fluently and hosts Saughall went into the break with a 1-0 advantage thanks to James Winskill.

Although man of the match Winskill netted again after the interval, Waverton scored three to clinch a 3-2 success despite Saughall coming close to levelling the scores.

Saughall Colts Blacks found no way past hosts Malpas, losing 8-1. Jacob Holden (2) Luke Pritchard, Joshua Charlton, Tom Lightfoot, Joe Fitzpatrick and Kasey Roberts scored, with outstanding performances from Luke Pritchard, Matthew Morgan and Lightfoot.

Boughton took an 8-1 victory away from home against Castrol Athletic. It was a good team performance from Boughton, whose MoM was one of their goalscorers – Bradley Bailey.

James Lloyd and Joshua Tillyer (2) made the difference when Blacon Youth beat visitors Upton Jaguars 3-1, while MoM Jordan Lee (2), Jack Dixon and Ilan Ap Gareth (2) scored as hosts Chester Nomads beat Newton Athletic Eagles 5-0.

In the U10s division, Chester Nomads fired home five against visitors Westminster Park Tigers. Sean Maddocks got a brace, and Deinol Bowyer, MoM Charlie Ward and Marco Apollonio also scored. Tigers’ Harrison Lawson got one back and James Davies was their MoM.

Malpas & District were unable to contain visitors Waverton Wasps, who stung six times through MoM Scott Evans (2), Dan Hamp (2), Matty Harland-Jones and Digby Brereton. Andrew Huxtable and MoM Patrick Horrocks replied.

Blacon beat visitors Upton Pumas 3-0 through MoM Ryan McKay (2) and Joel Harries. Upton MoM was defender Joseph McCleary.

Westminster Park Lions won 2-1 away to Christleton. MoM was Sam Evans.

Hosts Hoole Hornets beat Upton Jaguars 4-3. Owen Mackin and Cameron Tye each got two and MoM William Hardy (2) and Daniel Stroud struck back.

Newton Athletic had no problems against visitors Waverton Hornets, winning 9-0 through Dominic Doherty (5), Keiron Trevor (3) and William Maderal.
