SAUGHALL Blues faced Saughall Colts Blacks in an Under 9s Shield derby clash and the Blues walked out 10-0 winners.

Four-goal James Winskill led the way with goals for man of the match Scott Cobden (2), Owen Harrop (2), Ben Nicholson and Joe Warrington.

Vauxhall Astra tied 2-2 with Newton Athletic in the U9s Cup. Jacob Davies struck twice for Newton, who also had both Liam King and Marc Hardman named MoM.

Upton Jaguars’ U10s Shield match ended 3-0 to Castrol Athletic. Ciaran O’Sullivan earned the MoM plaudits as Hoole Hornets and Waverton Bees played out a 0-0 stalemate.

Christleton New Scene Reds returned from Saughall Colts with a win after securing a 4-3 success thanks to goals from George Dobson (2) and Ralf Turner (2). MoM was Robbie Ashton.

Joel Sampson and Dominic Docherty ensured Newton Athletic edged their meeting with Chester Nomads in the U10s Cup. Athletic won 3-2 after MoM Sampson scored twice and Docherty once. Jak Lawrence and Owain Ap Gareth scored for Nomads, who had Nathan Ainsworth named MoM.

Upton and Blacon Youth drew 2-2, with Blacon’s goals coming from Sonny Dawson and Joseph Jones. MoM was Ryan McKay.
