WAVERTON Hornets won their inter-club battle with Waverton Bees 3-1 on Sunday to remain level on points at the top of Under 13s Division Two with Princes Villa.

The Bees broke the deadlock but Danny Burrows levelled the contest before Jordan Davies and Danny Davies settled it.

Adam Sawney made some important saves for the Hornets, whose man of the match was Oliver Handley.

Vicars Cross Dynamos were well beaten 9-0 at home by Villa but Hoole Hornets enjoyed a 6-3 success at Hope Farm Rangers.

Division One leaders JFC Boughton cruised into the third round of the Cheshire Minor Cup with a 5-1 victory at home to Glenavon.

Christoph Azimale’s hat-trick was complemented by Cameron Gardner and MoM Jack Rowlands.

Waverton Wasps continued to live up to their billing as the Under 14s Division One title favourites with a 5-2 win at Vicars Cross Dynamos (Seb Dunn 2; MoM – Rob C Jones and Kieran Carney).

JFC Boughton are second after their hard-fought 5-3 win at Chester Nomads (Cameron Black, MoM Sean Bates 2). Inspired by excellent MoM Johnny Crump, Boughton dominated proceedings before the break with Johnny Lee (2), Dan Burgess, Charlie Jones and Lee Ludgate finding the net.

Matthew Hammond was the MoM and Sean Beales (3) and Kieran Hodgeson (2) did the damage as Division One leaders Newton Athletic Youth won 5-2 at third-placed Pulford (MoM Bradley Naylor 2).

Upton won 6-1 at home to Hope Farm Rangers, while Westminster Park Lions (MoM John Forth 2, Joseph Speed) broke their duck by drawing 3-3 at home to Waverton Bees (Harry Woodward, Connor McGovern-Scott, James Cope), for whom Matthew Hamilton-Gearing was the MoM.
