First win for Pulford

Man of the match Daniel Burrows fired five goals as Under 13s Division Two title challengers Waverton Hornets stormed to 9-0 success at Vicars Cross Dynamos on Sunday.

Pacesetters Princes Villa, in contrast, were made to work hard for their 3-2 home victory over a Hoole Hornets side for whom Joe Wells and Allessandro Malletta netted and Harry Sharp was MoM.

The sole Division One game of the day ended even with Matty Tute (2), Tom Wright and Will Thomas sharing the strikes and Connor Fowles taking home the MoM award for Malpas & District in their 4-4 home draw with Groves Athletic.

Park off the mark

WESTMINSTER Park are up and running in the Under 12s Division after they produced an excellent team performance to draw 3-3 at home to Vicars Cross Dynamos on Sunday.

Sam Owens earned his side’s first point of the season as he powered home a terrific late header. The outstanding Liam Eldridge and Callum Corrigan had earlier found the net for Park.

Upton won 9-0 at home to Waverton but Newton Athletic lost 7-1 at Ellesmere Port and Chester Nomads Colts fell 4-0 at home to Princes Villa despite Connor Evans’ man-of-the-match show.

Runaway Under 11s Division One leaders Blacon Youth made it eight wins from as any games with a 2-1 triumph at Groves Athletic on Sunday.

Sam Carroll and Brandon Burrows were the goalscoring heroes for Blacon, but their victory owed as much to a superb defensive display from man of the match Jake Tonge.

Vicars Cross Dynamos (MoM Tom Walsh 4, Jack Bottomley, Thomas Townsend, Tom Wyatt) were 7-3 winners at Waverton Rockets, whose clubmates Waverton Jets fared better as they won 8-1 at Westminster Park Lions (Nathan Bowker; MoM Joseph Burns).

Luke Hughes bagged a brace and James Harrison and Tyler Cameron shared the MoM honour as Saughall Colts enjoyed a 2-0 home success over Groves Rangers to move up to third in Division Two.
