Saints take over top

PARK Saints moved top of Chester & District Junior League Under 16s Division One on Sunday by producing an impressive team performance to triumph 4-3 at Newton Athletic Youth.

Sam Parsons, Guy Byrne and match-winner Stuart Swift (2) shared the strikes for the Saints, for whom Liam Smith was the man of the match.

Pulford won 2-1 at home to Malpas & District (Charlie Horrocks).

There were Division Two victories for Chester Nomads, 4-1 at Westminster Park, and Hope Farm Rangers, 3-1 at home to Rossway United.

JFC Boughton blew the U15s Division title race wide open with a stunning 3-0 home success over previously-unbeaten leaders Helsby.

Joe Williams, Lewis Donovan and Cameron Clark were on target for Boughton, whose win owed much to Mike Webb’s vital second-half penalty save.

Westminster Park edged a close contest at home to Groves Athletic 6-5 as Waverton ran out 6-1 winners at Hope Farm Rangers.

Upton closed the gap at the top of the U17s Division by winning 7-2 at Vicars Cross Dynamos.

The quality of Newton Athletic Youth’s finishing proved crucial as the U14s Division Two table-toppers won 4-1 at home to Princes Villa Colts.

Danny Jones, MoM Sean Beales (2) and Adam Pascoe did the damage.

Upton kept up the chase with a 4-3 victory at Hope Farm Rangers.

JFC Boughton (Callum Owen, OG) lost 3-2 at home to Groves Athletic in Division One.

Malpas & District showed amazing powers of recovery to win 5-3 at Waverton Jets in U11s Division One.

Three goals behind, Malpas hit back through Oscar Welsh, Ben Smith, Will Kitchin and Will Morris (2).

Jamie Samuel, Louis Robson, Francois Antoine, Daniel Wait, Jonathan Nixon, Taylor Williams and Brendan Reade got their names on the scoresheet in JFC Boughton’s 9-0 romp at Waverton Rockets.

Division Two pacesetters Upton were held to a 1-1 home draw by Hope Farm.

Jack Rowlands fired four goals for JFC Boughton in their 9-0 victory at Waverton in U13s Division One.

Jake Evans, Kieran Trevor, Alex Ennions, Christoph Azimale and Ben Middleton completed the scoring for Boughton, whose MoM was John Davies.

Waverton Hornets (Danny Ward 2, Luke Sawney 2, Jordan Davies) came from three goals down to draw 5-5 at home to Hope Farm in Division Two.

Waverton’s title rivals Princes Villa won 2-1 at Waverton Bees; Hoole Hornets 7-1 at Vicars Cross Dynamos.

A spirited display could not stop Newton Athletic (Matty Sutch; MoM Sam John) from going down 3-1 at home to Ellesmere Port in the U12s Division.

Five-star Dynamos

THE Under 10s Cup and Shield competitions swung into action on Saturday.

Vicars Cross Dynamos were the Cup big-hitters with a 5-2 win at home to Princes Villa Colts given to them by goals from Tom Roebuck (2), Daniel Hickey, man of the match Finlay Murphy and Archie Gautier.

Jamie Hawes was the MoM for Tarvin Athletic as they won 3-0 at home to Waverton Rockets with a William Brighton double and Joseph Jenks single.

Blacon Youth matched that scoreline at home to Waverton Jets as Chester Nomads (George Tingey, Will Blance) settled for 2-0 at home to Hawker Jets.

Upton Pumas beat Upton Panthers 3-2.

In the Shield, Waverton Bullets won 2-1 at Vicars Cross Colts (Jason Taylor; MoM Jack McGrady) while Newton Athletic Eagles (Danny Reisin, MoM Conor Stanton) triumphed 2-0 at home to Helsby.

Malpas & District Blacks (MoM Craig Norris, Andrew Sweetnham, Will Halewood) drew 3-3 at Groves Rangers. Groves Athletic were 5-0 winners at home to Porto Panthers.

Newton Athletic powered to a 9-0 U9s Cup victory at Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Levon Hughes and MoM Dan Nixon hit hat-tricks for Newton, with Matthew Osborne, Jack Roberts and Scott Ramsden also getting in on the act.

Westminster Park Panthers were 8-0 winners at home to FC Porto thanks to Ollie Par (3), Arthur Devaney, Daniel Spaven, Callum Woosey and Jake Lloyd, who shared the MoM award with Harry Smith.

Jack Jones and Cameron Eyemond starred for Blacon Youth (Joe Thompson 3, Jack Sconce, Jack Challoner) in their 5-0 home win over Saughall Colts (MoM Jake Mason).

Christleton Newscene (Harvey Jones, Ben Lawrence, Jamie Edge, Will Goodwin; MoM Adam Dennett) won 4-0 at home to Malpas & District Reds; Waverton Jets 2-1 at home to Upton Pumas.

Chester Nomads (Harrison Burke, David Mitchell; MoM Sheehan McDonnell) drew 2-2 at home to Princes Villa.

In the Shield, Isaac Yalarakis and Alistair Taylor-Cartwright stood out for Westminster Park Lions (Jake Smith 4, James Worthington 2, Louie Frier) in their 7-1 home success over Malpas & District Blacks (MoM Louis Richardson).

There were wins for Blacon Youth Tigers and Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts, 4-0 at home to Upton Panthers and 5-0 away to Vicars Cross Dynamos Rangers respectively.

Waverton Rockets (MoM Dylan Bevan-Jones, Tom Ward) won 2-1 at home to Groves.
