UPTON showed nerves of steel to seal their place in the semi-finals of the Chester & District League Under 17s Cup.
They won their last-eight clash at favourites Newton Athletic 4-3 on penalties after extra-time failed to separate the sides.
The hosts had taken the lead but Upton got the equaliser they deserved to force the shoot-out.
Captain and man-of-the-match Gary Cripps scored from the spot as Blacon Youth won 1-0 at Pulford in the sole Under 17s Division encounter.
