Hail the champions

BLACON Youth have been crowned Chester & District Junior League champions.

Inspired by man-of-the-match Layton Ashford, Blacon sealed the Under 11s Division One title with a 4-1 home victory over Groves Athletic given to them by hat-trick hero Harley Bennion and Kieran Ball.

JFC Boughton (Alex Sams 2, Jordan Mather 2, Taylor Williams, Francois Antoine, Brendan Reade) won 7-2 at Waverton Rockets as Malpas & District (MoM Will Morris 3, Ben Smith, Oscar Welsh) ran out 5-0 winners at Waverton Jets.

Saughall Colts pulled four points clear at the top of Division Two after they won 7-2 at home to Hope Farm and second-placed Princes Villa lost 4-2 at home to Westminster Park Tigers.

Third-placed Upton are level on points with Villa following their 3-0 home win over Groves Rangers.

Elton (Ben Tideswell 3, Lauchlan Stanier, Paul Simcott, OG; MoM Callum Williams) stormed to a 6-2 success at Westminster Park Lions.

Under 12s Division pacesetters Blacon Youth made it 15 wins out of 15 with a 3-1 triumph at Malpas & District, for whom Kieran Rose replied and Christophe Fostier was the man of the match.

Ellesmere Port remain three points behind Blacon after their 9-2 win at Waverton Wasps.

Westminster Park were beaten 3-2 at Princes Villa.

Kieran Trevor, Jack Rowlands and Christoph Azimale each scored twice as JFC Boughton won 6-0 at Blacon Youth to open up a four-point lead at the Under 13s Division One summit.

Waverton Wasps cruised to a 9-0 home victory over Malpas & District.

Waverton Hornets edged their big Division Two clash at Princes Villa 1-0 while, at the other end, Waverton Bees beat Vicars Cross Dynamos 9-1.

Lions roar to victory

WESTMINSTER Park Lions recorded a stunning 2-0 win at Under 14s Division Two high-flyers Upton.

Goals from Chris McCartney – his first an excellent header from a super Joseph Speed cross; his second a poacher’s finish after fine play by Luke Walker – and a man-of-the-match show from goalkeeper Harry Davies brought the impressive Lions a result to remember.

Runaway Division One leaders Waverton Wasps won 7-1 at JFC Boughton.

Chester Nomads lost 5-3 at Groves Athletic as Vicars Cross Dynamos fell 4-1 at Princes Villa.

A brilliant Ben Gregory free kick earned JFC Boughton a thrilling 3-3 draw at Under 15s Division title-rivals Waverton.

The hosts led twice through Joe Kirk (2) and Sam Mellor, but Gregory added to Josh Shaw’s earlier brace to ensure the table-toppers grabbed a point.

Helsby moved above Waverton and up to second with a 6-1 success at Groves Athletic.

Saughall Colts drew 2-2 at Westminster Park.

Newton Athletic Youth boosted their Under 16s Division One championship challenge with a 5-1 home win over Malpas & District (Connor Scott).

Park Saints lost 1-0 at Princes Villa.

Waverton maintained their five-point advantage at the top of Division Two with a 5-2 victory at Hope Farm Rangers.

Elton Youth, with goals from George Mecklenburgh, Jordan Gregory, man-of-the-match Jack Davies and Joe Wardle, were 4-1 winners at Chester Nomads.

Blacon Youth won 5-2 at Westminster Park Tigers.

Upton took over pole position in the Under 17s Division with a 4-2 win at Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Cup joy for Newton

NEWTON Athletic won 2-0 at home to Chester Nomads to seal top spot in Under 9s Cup B.

Jack Roberts opened the scoring before Levon Hughes – set-up by man-of-the-match Matt Osborne – killed the contest.

Princes Villa were 3-0 victors at Upton Pumas.

Blacon Youth (Joe Thompson, Jack Chaloner) triumphed 2-1 at home to Malpas & District Reds (Luis Edwards) in Cup A.

Westminster Park Lions were named the Shield A winners after they won 3-1 at Blacon Youth Tigers and Upton Panthers’ 0-0 drew at home to Newton Athletic Eagles.

Malpas & District (Lewis Charlton, Sam Davenport; MoM Louis Jackson) got off the mark with a 2-1 victory at Elton Youth (MoM Liam Couper).

Helsby won 6-3 at Groves Athletic in Shield B.

Led by man-of-the-match Yaseen Sati, Blacon Youth won 8-4 at home to Upton Pumas (Lewis Buckley 2, MoM Callum Halim, Josh Jones) in Under 10s Cup A.
