ALEX Molyneux hit a hat-trick as Helsby won 6-3 at Newton Athletic Hawks on Saturday to pick up their first win of the season in the Chester & District Junior League Under 10s Yellow Division.

Ben Webb, Max Williams and Charlie Lukeman also found the net.

Upton Pumas (Luke Charlton, Paddy Lally, MoM Mac Johnston) edged out visiting Groves Athletic 3-2 and Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts easily beat Vicars Cross Dynamos 9-0.

Blacon Youth Tigers blew the Red Division wide open with a 2-1 win at Hawker Jets, for whom Gerard Whyborn scored a fine 20-yard effort and Olly Johnson was the MoM.

Chester Nomads went down 4-3 at Porto Panthers while it finished 3-3 between Newton Athletic Eagles and Vicars Cross Dynamos Rangers.

Callum Gregory was the MoM and Joe Walsh and Jamie Denan were on target as Upton Panthers drew their Blue Division clash with Westminster Park Lions 2-2. Christleton Newscene were 9-0 winners at Groves Rangers.

In the Green Division a Josh Scully-inspired Newton Athletic blasted Waverton Rockets 9-1, Blacon Youth cruised past Porto Pumas 9-0 and Westminster Park Panthers won 3-1 at Saughall Colts with Ollie Parr (2) and Arthur Devaney goals and the effort of Callum Woosey. Libby Jones netted for Saughall, for whom Ryan Furnival and Jake Mason stood out.

Owen Rose was the man of the match as Helsby (Charlie Potts, Dean Woodward) won 2-1 at home to Waverton Bees (MoM Patrick Colligan) in the Under 9s Blue Division.

Chester Nomads (Henry Blance 3, MoM Tom Fisher, Billy Hart) were 5-0 winners at Princes Villa Colts as Newton Athletic sent Vicars Cross Dynamos packing 5-1.

MoM Joe Stockley scored twice and Dan Blakelock once – with a brilliant header – for Upton Panthers in their 3-2 Green Division home victory over Newton Athletic Eagles, for whom the skilful Ben Grinter was the MoM and Matthew Pollit (2) offered the replies.

There were Red Divisions home wins for Blacon Youth (Charlie Evans 2, Leon Duckers, Sam Crimes, Jack Blackwell; MoM James Ellams), 5-1 over Vauxhall Motors Zafira, and Upton Pumas, 6-1 against Malpas & District (Marcus Evans; MoM James Palgrave-Jones).

In Yellow Division Westminster Park won 8-0 at Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts but Saughall Colts (Billy Nicholls; MoM Dylan Moore) lost 3-1 at home to Christleton Newscene.
