A STUNNING George Arnold hat-trick ensured Newton Athletic won their big Chester & District Junior League Under 9s Blue Division clash at home to Chester Nomads 3-2 on Saturday.

Arnold was the star of a superb team performance from the pacesetters, who were pushed all the way by their visitors in what was an excellent contest.

Calum Caulfield (2) replied for Nomads, whose MoM was Henry Blance.

Vicars Cross Dynamos won an end-to-end game at Helsby 3-1 with goals from MoM Ryan Jones (2) and Callum Brunskill.

Ethan Olobodun finished off a well-worked set-piece move for Helsby, whose MoM was Sam Gittens.

Blacon Youth moved clear at the top of the Red Division with a 3-0 home win over Waverton Wasps.

Leon Duckers, MoM Sam Crimes and Ben Shaw shared the strikes.

Second-placed Upton Pumas had to settle for a 2-2 home draw with Vauxhall Motors Zafira, who came from behind to secure a share of the spoils through Finlay Arrowsmith (2).

John Turner was the MoM for Upton, with Matthew Yates claimed the award for Motors.

Declan Betteley, Josh Harthill and Tallen Roberts got the goals and James Palgrave-Jones was the MoM as Malpas & District drew 3-3 at home to Ellesmere Port Rangers.

Saughall Colts overcame a sluggish start to draw their Yellow Division encounter at Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts 3-3.

Patrick McKee, who impressed along with Mathew Harrop, started the fightback for Saughall before MoM Harrison Robson bagged a brace as honours deservedly ended even.

Table-topping Christleton Newscene won 7-1 at home to Princes Villa.

Vauxhall Motors Astras showed why they lead the way in the Green Division with a 9-0 success at Upton Panthers.

Great defensive work and a top-class goalkeeping display from MoM Dan Blakelock meant the Panthers were in the game for long periods. But Motors moved up a gear after the restart and recorded a comfortable victory courtesy of Sam Ricketts (2), Nathan Farrington (2), Josh Merriman (2), George Hollyoak, Luke Stanley and inspirational MoM Jack Swift.

Ellesmere Port Rovers won their derby at Groves 3-1.

Blacon punish Elton

ELTON Youth failed to make the most of their first-half dominance as Blacon Youth ran out 5-1 winners in the Chester & District Junior League Under 10s Red Division on Saturday.

Elton, for whom Matthew Collins struck and Aaron Catterall was the man of the match, had chances to wrap the match up by the break – and they were made to pay in the second half by Bradley Broadbent (3), Ryan Dickson and Lewis Luff.

Curtis Whelan and Keiran Morgan were the stand-out performers for Blacon.

Table-topping Hawker Jets won an entertaining game at Newton Athletic Eagles 6-2 thanks to a Jake Johnson hat-trick, Cole Wilson double and a powerful header from Gerard Whyborn.

Keiron Freeman was the MoM for the Jets.

Vicars Cross Dynamos Rangers lost 3-2 at home to Porto Panthers.

Yellow Division pacesetters Upton Pumas cruised to a comfortable 9-0 victory at Vicars Cross Dynamos.

Midfield workhorse Casey Morley was named the MoM for the Pumas, for whom Ciaran Hughes (2), Charlie Jones, Sam Gorniak, Morgan Handley, James Berry, Mac Johnston, Paddy Lally and Luke Charlton all got their names on the scoresheet.

Vicars Cross Dynamos Colts were 7-0 winners at home to Newton Athletic Hawks but Malpas & District Blacks were beaten 1-0 at Groves Athletic.

James Jacks was the hat-trick hero as Malpas & District Reds won their Blue Division battle 3-1 at Upton Panthers, for whom MoM Joe Walsh reduced the arrears.

Westminster Park Lions lost 5-2 at home to Groves Rangers.

Battling Saughall Colts suffered a cruel late collapse as they went down 6-3 at home to Newton Athletic in the Green Division.

Reece Rowlands (2) and Zack Brookman had got Saughall, for whom Owen Gittens was the MoM, back into the match.

Waverton Rockets lost 8-1 at home to Ellesmere Port Rovers.
