SOME of the area’s top young talent was in action at the Exacta Stadium at the weekend as the junior league held the first of three finals events.
Kicking-off proceedings was the Under U17s-18s Cup decider between Vicars Cross Dynamos and Elton Youth on Friday night.
Elton put up a good show but they were comfortably beaten by a strong Vicars Cross side who made it a double after winning the U17s-U18s Division title.
Six further Hunters Cup finals followed at the home of Chester FC on Sunday.
Newton Athletic Youth won the U16s showpiece against JFC Boughton 1-0.
Paul Massey’s last game in charge of Chester Nomads Colts proved to be a memorable one as his side claimed the U15s crown with a 3-1 win over Princes Villa.
JFC Boughton were the U14s winners with a 2-1 triumph over championship rivals Chester Nomads.
Blacon Youth lost the U13s final to Ellesmere Port 2-0.
But there was joy for their younger clubmates as Blacon Youth retained the U12s Cup with a 3-1 victory over Waverton Jets to complete the double.
Holders Vicars Cross Dynamos shocked Waverton Arrows to win the U11s final 2-1.
A league spokesperson thanked Chester FC for the use of the Exacta Stadium and Olympic Trophies for supply of the trophies.
