BOUGHTON returned from Saughall Colts triumphant after their 4-1 win in the Olympic Trophies Under 12s Division.

Two early goals in each half gave Boughton the points despite Saughall’s best efforts in an evenly matched game. Sion Brisbane (2), Cameron Parker and Jack Smith were responsible for Boughton’s goals while Henry Makings found the net for Saughall.

Colts’ man of the match was Macauley Newell, Boughton’s was Alex Garner.

Saughall Colts slipped to a 1-0 home loss against Park Saints A in the R&G Logistics Ltd U13s Division. The only goal of the game came on 20 minutes when Jonathan Morgan scored for the Saints.

Colts’ heads did not drop and they continually pressed on for the equaliser. Matty Taylor hit the post and had two chances cleared off the line as it turned out not to be the Colts’ day. Their MoM was Chris Taggart, Saints’ was Tadgh Gregory.

In the U14s Division One, Upton South struck a magnificent seven past Newton Athletic. The game ended 7-1 as Upton soared to the top of the table thanks to goals from Gary Wilson, Brad Stanley, Reece Norton, Adam Wilson (2), Alex Williamson and Sam Langan.

Elton Youth and Blacon Youth Whites played out a nail-biting 5-5 draw in U14s Division Two. Elton took the lead through James Gregory but Blacon hit back with three good goals, leaving the Elton defence in total disarray before Gregory pulled a goal back before the break.

Blacon came back with the same determination and upped their tally to five goals.

Elton then managed to get a grip of their performance and bombarded the Blacon goal, trying to claw back the deficit.

Eventually two fine individual goals from MoM Ethan Marshall and a well converted goal strike by Dean Simcott sealed a sensational comeback.

Blacon Youth’s scorers were Augustine Bangura (2), Liam Lloyd, Martin Bromwich and Perry Harley.
