THE Blues suffered late heartbreak at White Hart Lane last night as an 88th-minute goal sent them out of the FA Youth Cup.

Paul McManus – who netted the winner when Chester dumped Spurs out of last season’s competition – helped put City into the lead. The 17-year-old sent over a good cross which was converted by Lloyd Ellams on 28 minutes.

Danny Rose pulled the hosts level seven minutes before half-time and, when the same player was tripped over in the area by Chester keeper Paul Dorman in the dying moments, Spurs had their chance to win the game.

David Hutton stepped up to beat Dorman from the spot and send his team into the fifth round.

Chester: Dorman, Robson (Smith 54), Feliciello, Rule, Rowlands (R Williams 90), Owen, Morrin (Thorpe, 58), Gregory, Ellams, McManus, Mitchell. Subs: Newman, S Williams.
