A ROB LLOYD hat-trick sunk Marine in this UniBond Premier Division clash.

The Mariners made the perfect start on seven minutes when Darren Brookfield crossed and Peter Cumiskey just got there before Witton keeper John Kennedy to toe-poke the ball in.

On the quarter-hour mark Lloyd equalised then two minutes later a Steve Hussey corner was headed out to Brookfield, who restored Marine's lead with an unstoppable volley.

Four minutes later a deep cross from Steve Connors found Lloyd, who scored again. On 32 minutes Lloyd escaped down Marine's left and squared for Griff Jones to convert.

With the fog getting thicker the referee called a halt to proceedings and after a 15- minute break the conditions were deemed playable.

Witton extended their lead on 73 minutes when Adam Warlow crossed to Mike Moseley. Right on full-time Witton were awarded a penalty, which Lloyd converted.
