BOTH teams were at full strength for Wednesday's Mid Cheshire Senior Cup tie and produced an exciting match.

Winsford had the early chances and might well have gone ahead in the first minute when Martin McGrath lined up a long-range shot, but it was well saved by Chris Prime.

Middlewich launched their first serious attack on 11 minutes when ex-Blue Joey Roberts skimmed the far post.

But Winsford achieved the breakthrough on 40 minutes when Ian Given was upended in the box and Mark Quinn converted.

Middlewich had the best of the early part of the second half and were unlucky, but Winsford sewed the game up on 80 minutes

when Chris Hutchinson's centre was headed by Given over the stranded Prime.
