HELSBY celebrated a win in the West Cheshire League Complete Focus Shield final on Tuesday.

They chalked up a 4-2 success over Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves in a match played at Runcorn Linnets’ ground.

Wes Heizer scored twice for Helsby, with the other strikes coming from James Edwards and an own goal.

Promoted Helsby (John Coady 2, Jamie McCartney 2, Paul Abram, Adam Hunter) had run out 6-1 winners at home to Merseyside Police in Division Three on Saturday.

Upton AA Reserves (Jon Eymond-Jones, Ryan Farrell) won 2-1 at home to Capenhurst Villa Reserves (Jamie Johnson) but Chester Nomads fell 4-0 at home to champions South Liverpool.

Chester Nomads’ hopes of a top-three finish in Division One were hit on Saturday as they saw their six-match unbeaten run ended.

Dale Harris and Kai Stockton replied for Nomads in the 3-2 defeat at Southport Trinity.

Christleton also lost 3-2, away to Marine Reserves, in spite of a brace of goals from Adam Thelwell-Wilson.

In Monday evening’s games, Upton AA completed their league programme with a heavy defeat, losing 9-1 at Cammell Laird Reserves.

John Boldea netted the Upton consolation.

Capenhurst Villa lost 2-1 at home to Manor Athletic in Division Two on Saturday.
