CHESTER Nomads’ dream debut season in West Cheshire League Division One continued on Monday as they won 5-0 at home to Ellesmere Port to cement third place.

Joe Cossins, Mark Crossan, Steve Cunningham, Ed Moss and Kai Stockton did the damage.

Nomads had claimed the scalp of newly crowned champions Ashville on Saturday.

Cunningham, Dan Delgado and Dale Harris earned John Cadwallader’s side a notable 3-2 home success.

Nomads went into that match on the back of a 1-1 derby draw at Upton AA (Simon Andrews) last Wednesday.

Upton then drew 0-0 at home to neighbours Christleton on Saturday.

Blacon Youth Club, who were without a game at the weekend, lost 5-0 at Ashville last Thursday.

Helsby are celebrating Division Three promotion.

They ensured they will finish no lower than second with a 1-1 draw at Manor Athletic Reserves on Monday.

Ian Cox netted for Helsby.

There were defeats on the same night for Christleton Reserves (David Smiley, OG), 3-2 away to Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves, and Neston Nomads (Rob Cottrell, Ian Holland), 4-2 at home to New Brighton Reserves.

Neston (Cottrell) had gone down 3-1 at Capenhurst Villa Reserves (Tom Hockley 2, Jamie Johnson) on Saturday.

Chester Nomads Reserves (Peter Fitzpatrick 2, Elliot Gorst, Nickie Carroll, Joe Imlach) won 5-2 at Mossley Hill on the same afternoon but Christleton (Mark Nokes 2, Alec Hutchinson) lost a seven-goal thriller 4-3 at home to AFC Bebington Athletic Reserves.

Capenhurst Villa (Graeme Davidson 2) were 2-1 winners at Richmond Raith Rovers in Division Two last Wednesday.
