AIRBUS UK Broughton boss Andy Preece believes his side could strike a huge psychological blow on Bangor City by recording back-to-back Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League wins over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Tomorrow the second- placed Wingmakers host fifth- placed Prestatyn Town (7.30pm) before making the long trip to sixth-placed Carmarthen Town on Monday (2.30pm).

A maximum return from the matches would leave Airbus at least four points clear of third-placed Bangor in the race for runners-up spot and automatic qualification to the Europa League.

Wingmakers director of football Preece said: “It’s important we do get a good couple of results because if we do that will heap the pressure on Bangor who don’t play the following week.

“We could put ourselves in a really strong position. But if we do we know there’s still a lot of work to be done.”

The Carmarthen game was supposed to be played last Saturday.

But it had to be postponed as the shocking conditions made it too dangerous for Airbus’ players and officials to drive down to South West Wales.

The Wingmakers will be considered favourites to beat Prestatyn and Carmarthen.

However they have lost their last four league meetings to the latter.

Preece said: “We find it difficult when we go down to Carmarthen, there’s no doubt about it.”

The suspended Tom Field will miss both matches following his controversial sending off at Bangor City.

Preece said: “It’s such a shame for Tom.

“He’s been in outstanding form and he’s one of the best midfielders in the league without a shadow of a doubt.”
