AIRBUS UK Broughton eased the pressure on boss Craig Harrison when they recorded their first Welsh Premier League win of the season.

After five draws and four defeats the Wingmakers finally got their campaign off the ground with a 3-2 home victory over fellow strugglers Newtown on Sunday.

Harrison’s men made full use of a strong wind at their backs to take a two-goal lead into break courtesy of a Ryan Edwards volley and Ian Sheridan header. But inspired by their superb goalkeeper Nick Thomas, the visitors roared back after the break to level the contest.

It was hosts, however, who took the points when Sheridan turned in a Mike Hayes cross.

Airbus, who are off the bottom and up to eighth, head to Port Talbot Town on Saturday for a live S4C clash (2.45pm).

JFC Boughton continued their 100% winning start to Chester & District Junior League Under 14s Division One on Sunday with a 5-2 home victory over Chester Nomads.

Cameron Gardner fired in an excellent free kick and Jake Evans (2) scored direct from a corner for Boughton, for whom Alessandro Maletta and Christoph Aziamale also netted.

Tommy Speed and Jack Rowland starred.
