VAUXHALL FC play the first of two crucial games against Stalybridge Celtic in the space of four days tonight when they host the Tameside club (7.45pm).

The visitors are now just a single point above the Motor-men and a brace of victories for Vauxhall this week followed by an Easter Monday 'derby' success at home to Marine (3pm) would help cement their place in next season's Conference Two North division.

With this evening's game rearranged from Valentine's Day, the two sides face each other in home and away league encounters in the same week in a potential '12-pointer'.

Manager Owen Brown has injury doubts over both Mike Tomlinson (jarred knee) and Mark Roberts, whose leg stiffened up after netting Saturday's winner.

Meanwhile, although fellow centre back Brad Cullen is making good progress, he will still have to see another eye specialist before he returns to first team action.

Brown said: 'Like everybody, we've got some big games over Easter but we're taking things one step at a time.' Vauxhall FC are running a supporters' coach to Stalybridge on Saturday. It will leave Rivacre Park at 12.45pm and Ellesmere Port Bus Station at 1pm.

The cost is £5.50 per seat. To book your place call Ian on 0151 525 7491.
